Gestern kamen die Teilnahmescheine für den Math-a-thon an Julius Schule nach Hause. Bei diesem Fundraiser für das St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital lösen die Schüler Aufgaben in einem Mathebuch und bekommen von ihrer Familie und Freunden Geld für jede gelöste Aufgabe.
Julius liebt Mathe über alles. Und weil wir das Buch natürlich noch nicht haben, ist er heute um 5.30 Uhr morgens aufgestanden, um sich selbst schon mal Matheaufgaben auszudenken. Die Augen gucken etwas müde, aber er strahlt von ganzem Herzen.
[Yesterday, Julius got the sign-up sheet for the Math-a-Thon at his school, a yearly fundraiser for the St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The students get a book with math problems and earn pledges from family and friends for completed tasks. Julius loves math. And since he doesn't have the book yet, he got up at 5.30 a.m. this morning to make up his own math problems as a start!
We saw a campaign for St. Jude's last month when we went to the movies, and it really touched my heart. The campaign said "Give thanks for the healthy children in your life, and give to those who are not."
