Das Scottish Rite Children's Theater in Austin hat dieses Jahr einen supertollen Spielplan. Heute haben wir die Saison mit Rotkäppchen eröffnet. Vivian war auf dem ganzen Weg dorthin und bis sich der Vorhang hob in ängstlicher Erwartung auf den Wolf gespannt: "Mama, wo ist der Fuchs?" Neben ihrem großen starken Bruder hat sie sich dann doch in die erste Reihe getraut.
Vor der Vorstellung malen beide ihr Programm aus. Dann geht es los. Der Wolf entpuppt sich als tolpatschiger Bursche, der das Publikum mit missglückten Zauertricks unterhält und vergeblich nach dem Inhalt von Rotkäppchens Korb trachtet. Das Stück ist sehr kurzweilig und schön für Kinder umgesetzt.
Anschließend gibt es noch Autogramme und Fotos mit den Darstellern. Ab April wird "Hänsel und Gretel gezeigt" - dann sind wir bestimmt wieder dabei.
[Today we went to see "Little Red Riding Hood" at the Scottish Rite Children's Theatre in Austin. Vivian kept waiting anxiously for the wolf, asking "Mama, is the fox there?" Despite her fear, she sat in the very front row, next to big strong brother.
Before the show, they colored their program. Then the play started, and it was very nicely done! The wolf wasn't as bad - he claimed to be the best magician in the kingdom and entertained with tricks that never worked. With little success he was also after Red's lunch for Granny.
After the performance Julius and Vivian got to meet the actors for autographs and pictures. We had the best time and will be back for sure when they will show "Hansel and Gretel", starting in April.]
