Der erste Apfel [the first, one, and only]

Erntezeit! Der erste Apfel von Julius' Apfelbäumchen ist reif! Leider ist er auch der einzige. Unsere Vermutung: Während der Blüte waren noch nicht genug Bienen unterwegs. Nächstes Jahr werden wir uns rechtzeitig schlau machen und etwas nachhelfen.

Julius und Vivian sind trotzdem sehr stolz auf ihren Apfel - den ganzen Sommer über haben sie das Bäumchen fleißig gegossen. Am Nachmittag teilen wir den Apfel durch vier und genießen ihn frisch. Nächstes Jahr reicht es dann hoffentlich für ein richtiges Erntedankfest mit Apfelkuchen und Apfelmus.


[Here it is, the first, the one and only apple from Julius' apple tree. Maybe there haven't been enough bees around while it was blooming in spring for the very first time. Next year, we'll educate ourselves more about apple farming and hope for some apple pie and apple sauce. Nevertheless, Julius and Vivian are very proud of their first apple. They have been watering the tree all summer long. We devided the apple by four, and it sure was tasty!]
