Wir nutzen die Sommerferien, um endlich mal wieder den MetroRail, unseren Nahverkehrszug nach Austin, zu benutzen. Leider faehrt er nicht am Wochenende; waehrend der Schulzeit sind deshalb Ausfluege schwierig. [We ride the MetroRail to get to Downtown Austin. I wish they would offer a service on the weekends, too. During the school year, we never get to do this. Still loving summer break.]
Heute wird ein Familienprogramm im Kunstmuseum angeboten. Es geht um Abstraktion. Julius und Vivian finden es super. [We visit the Blanton Museum of Art and today's family program: all about abstraction. The kids love it.]

Toll geworden, ihr beiden!
Nach einer Mittagspause gehen wir durch die Ausstellung. Mir gefaellt natuerlich der Bergblick. [After finishing their own art, we visit the museum. Not abstract, but I still like this mountain scene.]
Im Juni waren schon einmal mit dem Zug unterwegs gewesen. Da ging es zum Kindermuseum in Austin. [Back in June was the first time we rode the rails this summer and went to the Austin Children's Museum.]
Wir sind frueh dran, und der Lokfuehrer hat Zeit und zeigt uns seinen Arbeitsplatz. [Early birds get a tour.]
